Russia submitted a draft statement to the UN Security Council, on Thursday, regarding the explosion that occurred today near the Russian mission in Damascus.
The draft statement condemns strongly the terrorist attack in Damascus in the center of the city today and close to the diplomatic missions, causing dozens of deaths and injuries.
The draft statement expresses deep sympathy to the members of the Security Council with the families of the victims and the injured, and offers sincere condolences to them and to the rest of the people of Syria.
The members of the Security Council - in the draft statement Russian - that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivation, place and time and by whomsoever committed.
The statement also stressed the Security Council's determination to combat all forms of terrorism, in accordance with its responsibilities under the Charter of the United Nations.
